November 20th, 3rd Annual Chilifest was a HUGE success!

Mankato achieved the goal of $20,000 raised for the Veteran's Memorial Place and Rett Syndrome Research. It had only been a week as Miss Mankato and Natalie had fun seeing a few familiar faces!

Look out world because these young women who are about to compete in the Miss America Preliminary, are intelligent, articulate, highly motivated, caring, talented, ambitious and hard working. They are passionate about their platform issues and are major contributors to public service. They exemplify leadership skills, strength of character and spirit…THEY ALL touch lives. We are PROUD of who they are and what they have accomplished to get to this place.

ALL OF THEM ARE WINNERS for competing and each of them has the same opportunity to represent the city of Mankato. We applaud them!

Samantha will crown the new Miss Mankato in one week! She has been so dedicated and passionate about serving the community of Mankato. We have not heard the last of Samantha Phillippi Miss Mankato 2010!

Miss Mankato 2010 Samantha Phillippi and Miss Minnesota 2010 Kathryn Knuttila will crown Miss Mankato 2011 on Saturday, November 13, at 7:00PM. It will be held at the Fitzgerald Middle School Theater,110 North 5th Street.

Tickets are $12 each....or $10 in advance and $10 at the door with a donation to the Mankato Echo Food Shelf.

" Nite To Unite" in Mankato

Mankato held it's Nite To Unite last night which just happened to be Samantha's 21st birthday. She had to take a picture of how she started her night in the back of a Mankato squad. Rain put a challenge here and there but in all it was a SUCCESS!
3 neighborhood events sang Happy Birthday to Miss Mankato.

Informational Meeting for the Miss Mankato 2011 Pageant

Young women between the ages of 17 to 24 interested in the Miss Mankato 2011 Scholarship Pageant! Miss Mankato is an 'OPEN' pageant. You must live, work and/or go to school within the State of Minnesota in order to participate. Proof of residency and/or college enrollment will be required to participate.

Dachshund Dash for Dollars..A dog race & costume contest that raised money for CMN.

Tanya Whitcomb a Miss Mankato finalist and contestant for Miss South Central had a fundraiser for CMN. Samantha was a judge for the costume contest.

Lunch with a Princess!

Saturday was also the big day for lunch with Miss Mankato that was purchased in a silent auction for Ethan Rittmiller a 9 year old who needs a heart transplant. The winner was 5 year old Arian who invited her 3 year old brother Amos along for lunch and fun games at the WOW Zone. Not sure who had more fun the kids or Miss Mankato!!
Autographs were a hit with others too!

Mankato Fun Days Parade

Samantha had so much FUN at North Mankato Fun Days Parade! It is the biggest parade in southern Minnesota, thousands attend from all over the area. Samantha was so amazed to see so many people she knew from work, school, appearances, and sponsors of the Miss Mankato Program. Thank you to Radio Mankato for teaming up with Miss Mankato each year. The Miss Mankato Program loves HOT 967's Brad, Stunt and Sarah, KTOE'S Don and Red the parade driver to the 2011 red Corvette with only 8 miles on it. Nicest car in the parade just for Miss Mankato!!! Thanks Mankato Motors!

Samantha had over 100 family and friends in the theater to cheer her on! She is an amazing young lady. You made Mankato proud! Congrats on being awarded 2nd runner up to Miss Minnesota 2010 Kathyrn Knuttila. Samantha was awarded $1000 scholarship for her achievement. Minnesota State Mankato will like that! Our THANKS to Miss Mankato Samantha Phillippi for being so GENUINE.
