Miss Mankato Schoalrship first Breakfast Fundraiser was fun! We had 44 attend and eat a breakfast that was fit for a Queen! Thank you to Pub 500 for alowing us to raise funds for the scholarship program! Thanks to everyone who donated extra funds too!

Mankato Sertoma Clubs Service To Mankind Award Banquet

Miss Mankato was a guest speaker at the annual banquet to honor 2 amazing volunteers. Kelsey performed her talent after dinner.... I heard many WOWS from the guests.

Starlight Gala Event

The Starlight Gala Event was held this past Saturday at the Alltel Center. Kelsey joined many supporters for a fun night of food, silent & live auction, entertainment & dancing with popular band, Powerhouse, and great camaraderie in support of One Bright Star and the Yellow Ribbon program. Kelsey got great reviews.

On Tuesday, February 24, Miss Mankato 2009 will be celebrating National Pancake Day with free pancakes at the IHOP in Brooklyn Center,. That's right - free pancakes!* The good news is that you can get the same great deal at your local IHOP. From 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on February 24 at participating IHOPs across the country, you can get a free short stack (three) of IHOP's famous buttermilk pancakes.For every short stack of pancakes served on National Pancake Day, IHOP guests are invited to make a donation to Children's Miracle Network, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children with 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals across the U.S., or other local charities.

Miss Minnesota Joins Mankato Public Safety for National Night Out on 8-7-07

Before Jennifer was crowned Miss Minnesota 2007, Miss Mankato was already scheduled for Mankato's Public Safety National Night Out.

Over 40 parties were scheduled in the city. The night started out at 5:30 and we left the last party around10:00pm. Thanks to Police Commander Debbie McDermott and Commander Amy Vokal for teaming up with Jennifer!! She had so much fun!

We had a great time last year teaming up with KTOE, that Miss Mankato was scheduled to join the radio guys for this years Fun Days Parade. How lucky for Mankato to have
Miss Minnesota 2007!
Jennifer was greeted with yells, screams, congratulations,and comments like "she is so beautiful" " what a beautiful smile" "she is going to compete for Miss America" and I saw many taking pictures too!
I walked along the side taking video and to my surprise also received many compliments from the community ! I saw two of this years Miss Mankato's judges at the parade. They said congratulations and I said you chose her first!

I know every person in Mankato who has had
the opportunity to meet Jennifer in the last six
months as Miss Mankato, knows why she is the new
Miss Minnesota 2007!!
I was not able to take any crowning pictures because my eyes were so teared up I could not see! Also what pictures I do have,are blurry from all the jumping and hugging. What a tremendous feeling to BELIEVE in someone so much and watch her be crowned before your eyes! Miss America here we come!

Jennifer Hudspeth and Mackenzie Ross tied for top swimsuit honors! Then the judges re voted and they tied again! So both Miss Mankato and Miss Brainerd Lakes received this award.

The two Mankato golf teams did an amazing job out on the Dwan Golf Course in Bloomington!
Between the two teams they took home 3 awards!!
They also raised scholarships for a great program.
It was fun to hear everyone ask "what is up with all the Mankato shirts?"
Which gave me an opportunity to educate them all about the Miss Minnesota Scholarship Program.

Santa Clause is Coming to Town

Miss Minnesota check in was today, the host hotel was also hosting a Santa Clause convention!
Jennifer was busy chatting with the the Santa crew while waiting for hotel rooms to be ready.

One Santa promised to give one lucky girl an early Christmas gift, a new crown!

There is a reason they call these guys radio personalities! These guys all ROCK! What a way to send Jennifer off to Miss Minnesota! After being on Spotlight in the morning with Don and Red, it was on to the morning show with Brad and Sarah. Jennifer was laughing continuously.
Everyone should start everyday this way!!

Royal Family Kids Camp Fundraiser with Governor Pawlenty

Miss Outstanding Teen, Miss Mankato, and Miss Austin volunteered for an exhausting evening of serving. They served chair tables that donated $10,000 to royal Family Kids Camp. The event was highlighted with Keynote speaker Governor Tim Pawlenty.

Three of your four points on your crown stood out SERVICE( serving hundreds of salads, desserts and salmon) , and of course you all did it with STYLE, and the fundraiser was a SUCCESS because you sacrificed your evening for a good cause.
Royal Family Kids Camp is a camp for neglected and abused children ages 7 to 11.
The event funds will be used to start more camps across the state of Minnesota.

ECFE of Mankato we thank you! First for being the educators of our community! Second for allowing Jennifer share her story of Autism, the delicious lunch and having Jennifer perform for your staff! Through the commitment and work of strong educators like ECFE , we know Autism is treatable and one day we will have a cure, and that there is a reason to hope.

Boone and Erickson, the legendary WCCO radio duo met Miss Mankato at the 2007 Mankato Senior Expo. I could not have been more impressed with Charlie Boone and Roger Erickson. They are celebrities, entertainers, icons in radio, and two of the nicest gentlemen I have ever met. They told Jennifer they were honored to be photographed with her!
